Meet SeaHale Photography: Caitlin Hale

I’m Caitlin Hale, an underwater photography professional with over 20 years of experience in the global scuba diving industry. I’ve been fortunate to build a career that blends diving, visual storytelling, education, and nature and ocean advocacy.

Today, I’m based in North Carolina, USA, continuing my work internationally through coaching, creative projects, and underwater imaging—both in the water and beyond.

A Journey Beneath the Surface

My underwater photography journey began in 2007 during my first PADI photography specialty dive in Egypt. That experience ignited a passion that led me around the world—from instructing in Thailand to diving and photographing marine life throughout the Caribbean and Asia.

In 2009, I became a specialty instructor, combining technical photography skills with hands-on, personalized teaching. Each dive has deepened my connection to the ocean and strengthened the experience I now share with students and clients.

Over the years, I’ve worked across many roles within the dive and imaging industries, including dive instructor, guide, boat captain, marketing strategist, operations leader, and professional underwater photographer. These diverse experiences shape my approach—professional, adaptable, and deeply people-focused.

After moving to Bonaire in 2017, I stepped fully into professional underwater photography, helping establish and lead the photography department for the island’s largest dive operator. In 2022, post-pandemic I returned to founded Bonaire Photography Center creating a dedicated space for divers, snorkelers, and content creators to grow their underwater photography skills. After several incredible years of living, working, diving, and documenting Bonaire; life led me to transition into new depths, new landscapes, and new stories waiting to be told.

My Mission

I specialize in personalized coaching that meets you where you are—whether you’re learning the fundamentals or refining advanced lighting, composition, and creative storytelling. No two photographers are the same, and I believe learning should reflect that.

While I’m currently working from North Carolina, USA, my commitment to the ocean, conservation, and immersive education remains global.
